SICK introduces:

CVV500 Series – SICK’s miniature line of bar code scanners that are easy to configure, and since they are barely larger than a USB plug, they are great for applications where space is extremely limited,  Other features include:

• Easy to configure via its  online tool and configuration bar codes
• Excellent decoding performance, with a large depth-of-field, allowing flexibility in code size and target placement

SICK introduces:

MHTB15 & MHTB15V – These cylindrical photoelectric sensors are designed to save space and are the shortest length in a M18 housing on the market of these types of sensors.  They offer superior background suppression technology enabling them to ignore stray background reflections, detect multi-colored/shiny objects, and provide high immunity to ambient light, thus increased throughput.  Ideal for washdown applications since MHTB15 has a plastic housing and MHTB15V has a stainless steel housing.

Color Range E – High speed 3D and color in one camera.  Provides high resolution color measurements.  Great for applications where both 3D shape and color are important.  Since Color Range E can see it all, it provides reliable inspection and cost-efficient solutions.By measuring both 3D shape and color of objects and parts, more reliable decision can be made to allow production plants to improve their up-time, throughput and product quality.

The washdown version of the C4000 Micro’s housing/enclosure rating and its cable rating have been upgraded to IP 69K rating.  It can withstand 100 bar pressure at temps up to 80 degrees Celsius.

Sick announces the following new products:

Mini Twin Safety Light Curtain – This is the World’s smallest safety light curtain. The twin stick design combines sender and receiver into 1 stick, thus simplifying ordering and reducing inventory costs. It provides end-to-end coverage, eliminating dead zones in cascading applications. 2 or 3 sets of mini twin slides can be cascaded together and wedged next to each other without losing resolution, thus allowing light curtains to be mounted closer together increasing productivity. SLG Automation Light Grid – The slimmest non-safety light grid designed to save space and money.  It is designed to save space as it can be hidden inside machines, frames, doors, and anywhere else space and aesthetics are desired.  It is the lowest cost solution for detecting an object as it moves through the area.

OLM Optical Linear Measurement Sensor – It uses linear barcode tape for positioning.  It determines absolute position using a bar code strip mounted along the length of travel, up to 10 km. and the barcode strip can be placed along a curve, incline, decline, or straight line.  It will increase speed and positioning accuracy, even around corners.  The OLM is used for high speed, high precision positioning of overhead cranes, rail and transfer cars, as well as other vehicles.

C4000 Advanced Palletizer Safety Light Curtains – These light curtains have been upgraded with reduced resolution, gap suppression capabilities, and exit-only functionality.  They also provide additional enhancements that reduce false trips and improve productivity.  They are used for entry/exit safeguarding.  They also allow product, not people, to enter a hazardous area by incorporating pattern recognition technology.  The don’t require any additional components, thus reducing installation costs and downtime caused by misaligned, damaged or dirty sensors.

IME Inductive Proximity Sensor – Features ASIC (application-specific integrated circuit) programming,chip which eliminates production tolerances, giving IME sensors exceptional accuracy and repeatability.  The use of Hot Melt filling material which can withstand humid areas and provide excellent shock and vibration resistance.  It also features a high tightening torque (for a more rigid installation), and high immunity to Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) signals, voltage and current spikes and electrostatic discharge. The non-contact sensor now has a higher temperature tolerance and switching frequencies which make it ideal for detecting metal targets in packaging lines, assembly, metal forming and automotive industries.
