High-Torque High Efficiency Stepping Motors by combining superior performance of Oriental Motor’s high torque motor with the latest technology advancements in efficiency, achieving superior overall performance in a 2-phase stepping motor.  These significantly reduce amount of heat generated from the motor, thus lowering cost of ownership due to reduction of cooling needs, increase service life of the motor due to cooler operating temperature, and reduces problems found with thermal expansion.  40% less power is consumed when compared at rated current to conventional stepping motors’ rated current.  They allow for smaller power supplies to be used to power the motor/driver.

Oriental Motor offers an array of products including:

CRK Series with Built-in Controlleris a compact, space saving 5-phase stepper motor and driver package.  The driver supports stand alone or RS-485 Communications with multi-drop capability for network operations and I/O control.  It has lower vibration, increased position accuracy, higher resolution, and has 3 operating modes:

• Direct Command – Entry from terminal, PLC or master controller
• Stand Alone Operation – running stored programs selected via I/O
• Variable Data – any settable parameter or varialb values entered/changed via direct entry from a host will be used by the stored sequence.

DS Series on Board Type Driver- This driver allows for easy adoption of 5 phase motor advantage for applications which struggle to meet desired results or to improve upon current machine by lower vibration, increased positioning accuracy, higher resolution and more efficiency, reduced current requirements.  The only requirement is a board mountable drive and capacitor.  It is desired for applications where the driver must be on printed circuit board or where space saving is of the utmost importance.

AR Series- These continuous duty, high efficiency step motors have a closed loop control which maintains positioning operation even with abrupt load fluctuations and accelerations.  It achieves significant improvements in efficiency with its lower heat generation, constant operarion, up to 40% less power consumption, low vibration and improved angle accuracy.

Oriental Motor proudly announces the following new products:

AR Series- This new, low heat, continuous-duty, closed loop step motor and driver system is an advanced version of AlphaStep.  The AR series is designed for continuous operation, unlike conventional stepping motors.  It achieves a great improvement in efficiency.  Features include lower heat generation, constant operation, up to 40% less power consumption, low vibration, and improved angle accruacy.  It provides reliability equal to that of a servo motor with its ability to output an alarm signal when overload conditions continue.  When an overload condition if first detected, it will immediately regain control using the closed loop mode.

The RBK and CMK-2phase step motor and microstep driver product lines has been expanded.  The RBK series includes high-torque, PL geared and encoder models and the CMK now includes encoder models.  It will now be easier to find the right solution for your application needs.
