SNAP PAC Controllers- These SNAP PAC programmable automation controllers now have a micro SD card slot that holds micro SD cards up to 2 GB.  The file system is now greatly expanded with removable storage for the same price.  Cards are sold separately as/when  needed.  With these micro SAD cards you can:

• Store data and files – In addition, you can read or write to them using PAC control commands or FTP client.
• Update firmware eith on controller or on a serial communication module on the controller’s rack which is great for non=networked controllers or if PAC Manager is not available.
• Test new firmware – Just put in new firmware or card and boot from it.
• Update, run or test new PAC Control strategies- Helpful when controller isn’t networked, PAC control isn’t available or need to test new strategy without erasing the current one.
• 

PAC Project Software Suite now supports Microsoft Windows Vista (32-bit), as well as Windows XP and Windows 2000.  It provides all software you need for industrial automation, remote monitoring and data acquisition in any field.  It comes with in PAC Project Basic (free) or PAC Project Professional.

• PAC Project Basic – includes flow chart based PAC control for developing control programs and run on SNAP PAC controllers and PAC displays for creating human-machine interfaces.
• Pac Project Professional – adds Opto OPC server, OptoData Link for sharing data with common databaes, and support for redundant ethernet links.

New Wired/Wireless PACs and I/O- This is the best solution for wireless industrial automation in the market today.  Why:

Parker announces the release of a standard low-cost connector option for the BE and SM motor series.  This “LC” option uses an AMP or Tyco brand connector for both motor and feedback connectors.  Having this standard LC option will save time and money since not all applications need to have large connectors.

AR Series- This new, low heat, continuous-duty, closed loop step motor and driver system is an advanced version of AlphaStep.  The AR series is designed for continuous operation, unlike conventional stepping motors.  It achieves a great improvement in efficiency.  Features include lower heat generation, constant operation, up to 40% less power consumption, low vibration, and improved angle accruacy.  It provides reliability equal to that of a servo motor with its ability to output an alarm signal when overload conditions continue.  When an overload condition if first detected, it will immediately regain control using the closed loop mode.

The RBK and CMK-2phase step motor and microstep driver product lines has been expanded.  The RBK series includes high-torque, PL geared and encoder models and the CMK now includes encoder models.  It will now be easier to find the right solution for your application needs.

ESA announces the release of Polymath version 1.5.  New features include:

• Trend X/Y – now you can view graphs not only based on time, but two variables separate from the time unit.
• Import/Export of Recipes and Alarms – this produces significant savings of programming time.
• Advanced support to Back-up and Restore of a project – you can create a compressed file containing all necessary information for updating an existing project, send it via email to final user, who then can copy onto a standard memory device, such as UCB key or SD card, and restor it though a simple driven procedure on the panel.
• Send and receive date from Ethernet port – you can directly mange from script the data sending and receiving operations through the Eternet port, without using a specific protocol
