Parker announces:

The Aries Controller and ACR 9000 family of controllers are now both enabled with EtherNet/IP protocol. They can operate as an adapter/slave device within EtherNet/IP network and they take advantage of EIP drivers included with Parker HMI products line Interact and Interact Xpress. This EtherNet capability gives ACR 9000 and Aries users a popular connectivity option to PLCs and other master/scanner devices supporting the protocol.

Parker Factory Display (PFD) – It offers unparalleled visual impact for empowering associates on the factory floor with its high definition, flat panel displays and built-in networking.  It empowers workers with real-time situational awareness for faster response to downs and non-conforming conditions.  They can do much more that other production board displays and Andon systems, whether remotely publishing displays from any where via the Web or visualizing non-conforming parts on a production line, at a lower cost.  Its intuitive graphics enhance the massage while its distributed architecture easily integrates into existing manufacturing and IS infrastructure.

SICK announces the following new products:

140 FLEX Vision Sensor – Provides a higher resolutions and faster inspection speeds and has the best image quality within the SICK Inspector family.  It offers improved image quality and increased throughput, as well as unlimited FTP storage and Ethernet IP connectivity, the only vision sensor on the market with this connectivity.  Also, it has additional communication capabilities and unlimited storage space through an FTP site.  These sensors are able to keep up with the speed of nearly any production line, no matter what angle or orientation your product comes down the line. 

VTB18V Photoelectric Sensor – This easy to use tubular photoelectric sensor, with background suppression, features a stainless steel housing that can withstand harsh wash down environments in the food and beverage industry.

ISD400 Data Transmission Device – This is now available with Ethernet connectivity.  It is simple and fast to set up as there are no additional cables or radios required.  This device wirelessly sends and receives data in automated positioning applications that require easy alignment.

W4s-3 INOX Photoelectric Sensor – This sensor is enclosed in a stainless steel housing and has a completely smooth housing to protect against food contamination and bacteria growth.  It provides a longer lifecycle than other sensors with its durable housing and IP 69K-rating , thus reducing downtime and installation costs that go along with replacing damaged sensors.  It provides exceptional foreground and background suppression.  Ideal for environments with stringent cleaning procedures, including packaging, food and beverage, pharmaceutical and solar.

C4000 Advanced Palletizer Safety Light Curtains – These light curtains have been upgraded with reduced resolution, gap suppression capabilities, and exit-only functionality.  They also provide additional enhancements that reduce false trips and improve productivity.  They are used for entry/exit safeguarding.  They also allow product, not people, to enter a hazardous area by incorporating pattern recognition technology.  The don’t require any additional components, thus reducing installation costs and downtime caused by misaligned, damaged or dirty sensors.

Opto 22’s PAC Terminal Utility software, which can be installed with any version of PAC Project, provides a quick way to get basic and detailed controller status data for all of your controllers. The main PAC Terminal window shows all of your controllers’ names and IP addresses. You can either get a quick summary of all controllers by clicking Scan All (located on right side of window) or highlight the controllers you want to see and click Scan Selected. Then for detail information, double click on a specific controller to open Inspect Window. You can have multiple of these windows open in order to compare controllers. The inspect window will provide lots of information, including communication loop time and communication errors, RAM available, number of messages in message queue, and many more.
