PAC Project 9.0 will been released soon.  Highlights:

PAC Control

  • Use 1 SNAP PAC as primary controller with a second one running at the same time so that it is then ready to take over is something happens to first one.
  • Now have several I/O features in PAC Control Basic that were only available in Pro.  These include pulsing, totalizing, TPO, ramping, and frequency and period measurement commands.
  • Can start alternate host tasks dividing up communication workload for controller.
  • Cleaner toolbars and search box at bottom of Strategy Tree.
  • In debug mode, get a lot more data in Inspect dialog boxes.  With Pro, you can plot I/O points

PAC Display

  • In Pro, display a webpage window in Runtime
  • New alarm features, including new warning alarm state and ability to display alarms in alert window in Runtime and send email when alarm occurs
  • In Runtime, users allowed to log into PAC Display can be added and modified by qualified operator

UNO-1140F -  x86 based DIN-rail PC.  It is equipped with:

  • Ethernet Port
  • 2x USB ports
  • 8x isolated serial com ports handling 921.6 Kbps max speed per port
  • operated in temperature ranging from -20 to 70 C
  • IP40 protection
  • grounding isolation between chassis and system
  • 10 year warranty
  • not only integrates general PC functions in a single chip, supporting open architectures for easy development and migration, but also provides a VGA port and PC/104 expansion for wider applications.

All this provides robust performance in a in a compact package making it greatly suitable for micro controller and communication gateway tasks for machine automation, factory automation and building automation applications.

PCI-1220U – 2 axis motion control card for stepping and pulse type servo motors.  It has hardware controlled linear and circular axis integration ensuring synchronized movement across both axes, without consuming the PC’s CPU.  Great for users that only need to control  2 axes, and is a cost effective solution over a 4 axis motion control card.ARK-1360, ARK-3202, & ARK3360 - Intel Atom processor based series of embedded PCs.  Benefits include:

  • ultra low power
  • power and system performance
  • cost effective
  • makes possible embedded design for thermally-and size- constrained applications, including in-vehicle, retail, signage, surveillance and factory control related
  • ultra compact for easy set-up and maintenance

EKI-2525SPI – PoE switch with fiber connectivity.  Ideal for connecting and powering remote wireless access points, network camera, and other equipment over long distances, where electrical isolation and ground fault protection is required.  Ideal where panel space is limited.

Sick

Sick announces the following new products:

Mini Twin Safety Light Curtain – This is the World’s smallest safety light curtain. The twin stick design combines sender and receiver into 1 stick, thus simplifying ordering and reducing inventory costs. It provides end-to-end coverage, eliminating dead zones in cascading applications. 2 or 3 sets of mini twin slides can be cascaded together and wedged next to each other without losing resolution, thus allowing light curtains to be mounted closer together increasing productivity. SLG Automation Light Grid – The slimmest non-safety light grid designed to save space and money.  It is designed to save space as it can be hidden inside machines, frames, doors, and anywhere else space and aesthetics are desired.  It is the lowest cost solution for detecting an object as it moves through the area.

OLM Optical Linear Measurement Sensor – It uses linear barcode tape for positioning.  It determines absolute position using a bar code strip mounted along the length of travel, up to 10 km. and the barcode strip can be placed along a curve, incline, decline, or straight line.  It will increase speed and positioning accuracy, even around corners.  The OLM is used for high speed, high precision positioning of overhead cranes, rail and transfer cars, as well as other vehicles.
